Joseph F. Spiekermann, age 68 of Point Pleasant, NJ formerly of Secaucus, NJ passed away on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ.
Joseph had a passion for baking. He was the owner Spiekermann's Bakery established in Union City in 1919. Later, Joseph owned Mazur's Bakery in Lyndhurst, NJ prior to his retirement. He has been recognized for his talents within the baking industry.

Anne Bianchi
Anne Bianchi was the author of numerous nationally-acclaimed Tuscan cookbooks including From The Tables of Tuscan Women- Traditions and Recipes, Zuppa! Soups From The Italian Countryside, and Solo Verdura - The Complete Book of Tuscan Vegetable Cooking; and Dolci Toscani co-authored with Sandra Rosy Lotti. Her last book, Italian Festival Food, earned international acclaim with the Best Promotion of Italian Cuisine Abroad award at the World Cookbook Fair in Versailles in 1999. Born and raised in NYC, Anne used to spend long periods of time in her favorite region of Italy, Tuscany!
Anne Bianchi passed away 11 or 12 years ago from breast cancer. Anne was quite a woman. She had her doctorate, owned a cooking school in Tuscany with her cousin, and lived there for half the year. The other half was spent in NYC where she was involved with holistic medicine. She also authored 5 cookbooks on Tuscan cooking.

Olga Cynyk
CINYK Olga Catherine, 57, of Maywood, formerly of Hackensack & Jersey City, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2006, at her residence. Olga was born in Rosenheim, Germany, immigrated to Jersey City in 1951, moved to Hackensack in 1984, before moving to Maywood 1 year ago.
Olga was a customer service representative for Campmor in Saddle River, NJ. She was also an avid collector of Hallmark.
Beloved daughter of Anna & the late Petro, dear sister of Marion Cinyk, Irene Mohammed & Nadija Fedak, loving aunt of Larissa & Andrea Fedak, Sama, Karima & Ben Mohammed.

Brian Delaney passed away suddenly in June 2003. He lived and taught in my area. Brian was married to Linda O'Brien, daughter of Mrs O'Brien, St Mike's librarian.
BRIAN VINCENT DELANEY, 54, of Rumson, died June 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Middletown prior to moving to Rumson 16 years ago. He was a fifth grade teacher and student council adviser at Joseph Bolger Middle School, Keansburg, the past 30 years. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Keansburg, as well as the National, New Jersey and Monmouth County Education Associations.
He volunteered and was known as the "Snackbar Man" at Camp Arrowhead, Marlboro. He enjoyed time with his family, and was active in the community. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Delaney; and two sisters, Jacqueline Delaney and Mary Jahn. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda A. Delaney of Rumson; two sons, Conor F. Delaney and Patrick Joseph Delaney, both Rumson; his daughter, Caitlin Ann Delaney of Rumson; two sisters, Eileen Swiderski of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, and Maureen Schultz of Jersey City; and his brother, Joseph W. Delaney of Rutherford. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown.

Rev. Monsignor Joseph Petrillo, 65, was called into eternal life on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. Visitation took place on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange, N.J., from 2 to 7 p.m., with a Vigil Mass at 7:30 p.m. There will be additional visitation today, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, from 9 to 9:45 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, N.J. Arrangements are by The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St., West Orange, N.J. 07052. Monsignor was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived there and in Union City, N.J.
He graduated from Saint Michael's High School in Union City and completed undergraduate studies at Jersey City State College, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree. He attained his master of divinity degree from Immaculate Conception, Darlington School of Theology. Prior to entering the seminary, he taught at two elementary schools in the Newark Archdiocese: Saint Anthony's, Union City, and Saint Peter's in River Edge, N.J. Monsignor's diaconate year was spent at Saint Mary's in Nutley, N.J. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 28, 1977, by Most Rev. Peter L. Gerety, D.D. Monsignor's long-faithful service started as parochial vicar at Assumption Parish in Roselle Park, N.J., from 1977 to 1983. He was the chaplain at Mother Seton Regional High School in Clark, N.J., from 1987 to 1989, and on the Presbyterian Council for the Archdiocese of Newark in Newark, N.J., from 1988 to 1991.
He was the director of St. Joseph of the Palisades School in West New York, N.J., from 1989 to 1998, as well as the parochial vicar at St. Joseph of the Palisades in West New York. He was in residence at St. Aloysius Parish in Jersey City from 1994 to 1998, and on staff at Oratory Catholic Preparatory School in Summit, N.J., from 1998 to 2001. Monsignor Petrillo was currently the pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in West Orange, where he served since 2001. On June 5, 2009, he was given the honor of Chaplain of His Holiness. Monsignor also served in Newark for the Archdiocese as executive director of clergy personnel since 2005 and was spiritual director for the Essex-West Hudson Federation of Holy Name since 2012. Monsignor Petrillo was especially proud of attaining his master's of education from Boston College and serving as principal and teacher of St. Joseph's High School. Monsignor had a special devotion to the many religious sisters he called his friends. He looked forward to and enjoyed his frequent visits to The Sisters of Charity in Convent Station, N.J., the Dominican Nuns in Summit, and the Filippini Sisters in Morristown, N.J., as well as his visits with the priests and brothers at Delbarton. He also cherished the time he spent with parishioners and friends in West Orange and will be greatly missed by "the good people of Our Lady of Lourdes." Monsignor Petrillo is survived by his aunt, Dorothy Moran; cousins, Angela and Roberta Petrillo; his loving niece, Susan Petersen, and many cousins.

Charles W. Perkins, 66, of Flemington NJ, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. Born in Teaneck NJ, he resided there before moving to Piscataway for 36 years. For the last 11 years, he resided in Flemington.
Mr. Perkins was a veteran with the U.S. Army from 1968-1973.
Charles enjoyed playing cards, traveling to Florida, tinkering around the house, and was known to be "a real handyman." He loved to entertain and spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Rita Meehan Perkins.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Victoria (Mammel) Perkins. He is also survived by his two loving daughters, Cheryl and her husband Brian Mikita of East Windsor, NJ and Deborah Perkins and her husband Brad of Newbury Park, California. He is survived by his two sons, Steven and his wife Heather Perkins of Lakewood, NJ and Michael and his wife Jenny Perkins of Port Reading, NJ. His brother, Joseph Perkins and his wife Claudia reside in Ramsey, NJ. His sister, Rita Corwin lives in Pompano Beach FL. He is the grandfather of nine cherished grandchildren: Jason, Tabitha, Alyssa, Faith, Austin, Ronan, Brianna, Alex, and Violet, and 4 dear nephews, Joseph, Andrew, Timothy, and Matthew.

Myron Szwed
To describe Myron's essence is very hard to capture in a few words. Through his faith Myron was able to accept his life changing injury of paraplegia. Myron made no excuses and moved forward on adapting to new challenges. He was a very loving and giving husband and father. He was your best friend, compassionate, kind, and met every challenge with a smile and determination. His creative spirit inspired others. Myron touched everyone he met. His attitude when life challenges went different than expected was to say "this is all part of life's rich pageant."
Myron was a Warrant Officer during the Viet Nam war and flew cobra helicopters during his tour. After discharge from the Army Myron married Susan Johnson from Indiana and moved to Miami Florida. Myron received his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Miami.
In 1977 Myron and Susan moved to Boulder, Colorado where Myron became an engineer for AT&T. After retiring from AT&T he volunteered his time at the University of Colorado Science Discovery Department teaching children. He taught robotics, computer animation and electronics.
Myron is survived by his wife Susan of 45 years, his son Jason and his brother Jerry Szwed of Miami, Florida. On Memorial Day 2017, Myron will be honored with a Stone at the Pershing Field Vietnam Memorial in Jersey City, NJ.

Mrs. Norma O'Brian
Norma E. O'Brien, 87, of Long Branch, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012. Born in Long Island City, NY, Norma was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Union City, NJ. She worked at Powers Engraving, NYC before becoming the Librarian Clerk at St. Michael's High School and Edison School, Union City, NJ. Norma was a founding member of the St. Michael's Theatre Guild, and the Stoke's State Forest Program at Edison School. She retired in 1986 and moved to Red Bank NJ to be closer to her family. Norma was an active member of St. Anthony's Church in Red Bank, and was also an avid Yankees fan.
Norma was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph J. O'Brien, along with her parents, Linda A. & Joseph L. Masini, and son-in-law, Brian V. Delaney. She is survived by her daughter, Linda A. Delaney; her son, Kevin J. O'Brien and her daughter-in-law, Susan O'Brien. Norma is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Caitlin Delaney, Conor Delaney and his wife Elizabeth, Patrick Delaney and his wife Amy, Jason O'Brien, and Aaron O'Brien. She also recently became a great-grandmother to Olivia Rose Delaney and Blake Seraphina Delaney. Norma is also survived by her sister, Alda Holt; her niece, Violet Johns and her husband Gus Johns; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Sister Dorothy Impens formerly Sister Camille Louise, 85, a
Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Saint Anne
Villa, Convent Station, NJ.
Sister Dorothy was born in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of
David and Leona (Brookhart) Impens. She entered the Sisters of Charity on March
6, 1953and was a member for 62 years.
Sister Dorothy graduated from the College of Saint
Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.A. degree in English and from Duquesne
University, Pittsburgh with an M.A. degree in English. Sister Dorothy served in
the education ministry in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at
St. Joseph School, Oradell; St. Nicholas School, Passaic; Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel School; St. Michael High School, Union City; St. Mary High School,
Elizabeth; East Orange Catholic High School, East Orange; Marylawn of the
Oranges, South Orange. She served at DePaul Catholic High School, Wayne as
Teacher, Chairperson of the English Dept. and tuition Coordinator. She was an
Archives Assistant at the Generalate of the Sisters of Charity, Convent Station
and retired to the Convent of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station in 2011 where
she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sister, Linda
Karmon, and many nieces and nephews.
